Within these 10 square miles, even in the city's center, nearly 50% of the main roads here remain unpaved, creating a difficult traverse from work to home and points in between. No problem if you have a four-wheeler or a monster truck.
For California, the weather here has definitive seasonal changes, with snow in the higher altitudes; but, for the most part, what you expect from California, you will get here. With lows in the low 30s during the winter months to highs in the low 90s in the summer, you will need appropriate attire--but, hey, at least you're in California, right?
Neighborhoods in Clearlake, California
Clearlake is not a large area, but it does have four distinctly different neighborhoods, which are Clearlake Highlands, Pirate's Cove, Clearlake Park and the downtown area. Finding rental homes in Clearlake, California, is relatively simple. Pet friendly apartments may not be as simple; however, you can find landlords that will work with you.
Clearlake Highlands is aptly named, as the edges of this area of town butt up against the foothills of Bald Mountain and Quackenbush Mountain. People who live here love the smell of the mountain air and the feeling of freedom that these parts impart.
Pirate's Cove is part of the peninsula that juts out into Clear Lake. This area is probably the most coveted area of all Clearlake. From Pirate's Cove, you have a view of Buckingham, Howard and South Peaks across the water, which makes for the perfect place to call home and have that view that never grows old.
Clearlake Park, like Pirate's Cove, is situated on the peninsula, right on the water; however, it is more in the bend than Pirate's Cove. Clearlake Park is more nestled in the elbow, of the kneecap, which is Clearlake.
At the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Golf Avenue is Redbud Park, which is a great little place for a picnic away from the water if you so choose. Downtown Clearlake is also where you will find the majority of the shopping for the area. Rental houses in this area are quite eccentric.
How to Move to Clearlake
Moving to Clearlake is just like moving anywhere else in the country as far as the requisite materials needed for your move; however, if you have ailments, such as asthma from living in the more urban areas, moving here will clear your lungs and give you a new lease on life--as well as a new lease to pay in regards to your new apartment or rental house. Just make sure when moving here that you give yourself ample time to look for a place that will reflect who you are in spirit so that you can live in harmony among the clouds, mountains and waters.
