Richmond, Kentucky is in Madison County. Richmond is home to Eastern Kentucky University. Richmond's population is approximately 35,000. I-75 runs directly through Richmond. Richmond hosts an annual Pottery Festival at the Irvine-McDowell Park during the second weekend of September. Richmond also hosts an annual Christmas Parade that is one of the only lighted Christmas parades in Kentucky. Richmond has a very quant downtown with unique restaurants and specialty boutiques. Richmond has a living history museum called Fort Boonesborough, which offers visitors the opportunity to step back in time when Richmond was originally settled in 1775. Richmond housing costs are slightly higher than the rest of Kentucky's, but well worth the price. Richmond has a lot to offer residents and visitors alike.
