Overview
(edit)
Produce and Waterfront is a densely urban and industrial region of Oakland that sits right on the Oakland Inner Harbor. The area is known for its giant warehouses and ports, but in recent years this area has seen a major overhaul in regards to redevelopment and construction. High-rise condos and giant apartment communities are being built in an effort to revitalize the district, and it is looking good. The area is really cleaning up. Some of Produce and Waterfront still remain largely run-down buildings, but things are changing.
Catch a movie at the Jack London Cinema 9 and enjoy a late night dinner at the House of Chicken and Waffles, or grab some exotic dish on Webster Street, a largely Vietnamese neighborhood with yummy noodle shops and strange trinket stores. Within walking distance is the Jack London Amtrak station or a Capitol Corridor rail, or, enjoy access to the Oakland Ferry Terminal right here in town. Produce and Waterfront also follows parallel with I-880 for quick interstate access.
