 Overview (edit)

Naperville, Illinois is within the Chicago metropolitan area and has an estimated total population of just under 150,000 people. The fifth largest city in Illinois, it neighbors Aurora, Illinois and was often considered a fast growing city during the 1990s. A farming town but also a pretty decent-sized urban city, Naperville residents benefit from having a few high-tech companies in the city, like BP's North American Headquarters, Nalco Holding Company, Alcatel-Lucent, Tellabs and more. Naperville often makes lists of top best places to live and run a business.

The most impressive knowledge about Naperville is that is has some of the top schools in the nation, and the Naperville Public Library system is considered the best in the country. Along with the Naperville Public Library, Naperville is also home to the Nichols Library, the Naper Boulevard Library and the 95th Street Library. Because of these two facts and the large number of good jobs available, Naperville is considered one of the best places in Illinois to raise a family.

Libraries and schools aren't the only two things drawing visitors to Naperville, though; the city also sports a popular Riverwalk with fountains, benches, bridges with views, and an amphitheater. You can also find both the Moser Tower and Millennium Carillon in Naperville. Plenty of parks exist in the city, including Centennial Beach, Centennial Park, Commissioners Park, Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, Knoch Knolls Park, Naperville Sportsman's Club and more. Because of its size, Naperville also provides plenty of public transportation options, including a bus system and access to trains.

There's not only a lot of variety in rentable housing options here in Naperville, but there's more of an opportunity of finding some affordable options due to the larger size of the city. We found studio and one bedroom options ranging from $600 or less to $750 a month and two bedrooms $750 a month and up. You're definitely going to be able to find some places for the budget-minded, but still in safe and clean areas. Overall, Naperville has a lot to offer in terms of jobs, entertainment, school and business.
