A thriving city in and of itself, Moorhead is the largest city in northwest Minnesota with a population close to 33,000. When speaking of Moorhead, most Minnesotans think of one thing: education. This is because Moorhead is home to five major institutions of higher learning: Concordia College (private university), Minnesota State University Moorhead (public university), Minnesota State Community and Technical College (two-year to four-year technical college), Globe University/Minnesota School of Business, a private career college, and Rasmussen College (a two- to four-year college). Moorhead is also in close proximity to Fargo, North Dakota, which also offers a state University. Together the two cities work to ensure the area is ideal for students and residents.
While Moorhead is certainly a bustling college town, it is also a progressive, small town ideal for families, nature enthusiasts, and for just about anyone looking for a small town idyllic life that also is equipped with modern-day conveniences. Attractions of Moorhead are a plenty as its situated on the Red River and includes numerous parks, such as the picturesque Lindenwood Park, as well as a charming downtown. Recreational activities include festivals, sporting events, golf courses, and touring museums and historic homes.
Due to its location in the state, Moorhead's cost of living is very doable, and because of its many conveniences, museums, and thriving community, the quality of life is ideal for someone seeking a safe, clean, and all American place to live. Jobs can likely be found at any of the colleges and universities, or other businesses located throughout Moorhead and Fargo.
For baseball fans, Moorhead even has a professional baseball team playing in the independent Northern League, the F-M RedHawks.
