Monticello, MN is cute little town on the Mississippi River. It's enjoyed growth and prosperity in the last 10 years especially. New construction has brought popular retail outlets and restaurants to the area. Apartments are reasonable, from $400 to $900. They are not as plentiful as Minneapolis. However, for this town, the choices aren't too bad and won't break the bank. The economy is growing despite setbacks from the current recession. It's safe and there are new entertainment outlets so you don't have to drive 45 minutes just to see a movie. Overall, this is not a bad place.
