 Overview (edit)

With a population of just over 50,000, Minnetonka is one of Minneapolis’ more affluent neighborhoods consisting mainly of higher income professional singles and families. Mainly known for its recreational haven, Lake Minnetonka, people flock to this suburb in the summertime to partake in lazy summer days to be enjoyed on boats or on the patios of the restaurants that line the lake.

Aside from the lake, Minnetonka also encompasses 42 community parks that includes more than 40 miles of trails and more than 1,000 acres of public open space.

Minnetonka does offer all the conveniences of a major suburb, as, with all the open space and wildlife, it is still considered Minnesota’s 14th largest city. Minnetonka is also very close to Minneapolis as it is only eight miles west of the city.

Minnetonka is the place to be. I live at the Stratford Woods Apartments, and being here makes you feel tucked away in the wooded surroundings, but somehow you're only 25 minutes from the excitement of Downtown Minneapolis. Then of course Lake Minnetonka is close by, where I enjoy many days during the Summer. The are also a few parks close by to visit, and also the Minnetonka School District which is top notch.
