Overview
(edit)
A funky offshoot of downtown Minneapolis, Loring Park is home to many adorable eateries, a few great shops, a major city park, and adjacent to one of the nation's best museums, the Walker Art Museum. Loring Park is for the hip, young at heart, and um, of course, for those who have a little money. It's not cheap to live in this neighborhood, but it will definitely be fun!

Wonderful, artsy rich people with a sense of culture, class, and fun! Most work downtown and get to where they need to go by foot as they truly enjoy their neighborhood and home!
Bar Lurcat is definitely this place to go in the neighborhood. This restaurant is gorgeous, conveniently located and offers up great food as well as live music! Another awesome place include Joe's Garage where, in the summertime, you can enjoy rooftop seating with a view of downtown. Many new restaurants have also moved in the neighborhood that truly grasps the idea of good food, good drinks, and a beautiful, artistic atmosphere. The Walker also has a wonderful restaurant close by as well. For dancing and clubbing, downtown is super close. Here you can party on First Avenue and Black E.
Rent will be high, but the quality of living great! The area is super convenient to the rest of the city and the homes, apartments, and condos are beautiful and historic.
Parking will be difficult; best to have an off street spot, which you will have to pay for. The city will have permit-enforced streets that will be closely monitored in the winter. Traffic is not bad; slightly congested. The convenience is wonderful has four major highways come together in this area, so to hop on to St. Paul or any suburb will be cake!
Do your homework. Walk around the neighborhood. Look for “For Rent” signs. The area is hot and people need not do a lot of advertising to get renters.
Dogs can be walked on a leash through Loring Park. However, this is important to note, while the neighborhood is beautiful, the park can get seedy at night and has a reputation for individuals possibly ‘hooking up’ in late at night. The city does watch this and the police do patrol.
There is a lot to do in this neighborhood and beyond. The Walker is close by and has many traveling exhibits. There is also the Sculpture Garden for resting and relaxing in during the summer months. Also during the summer, Loring Park hosts “Movies in the Park.” The area is also very close to downtown and Block E which has a movie theatre and restaurants.
This neighborhood is small, so there is really no bad street to live on.
All essentials can easily be found both north and east of the neighborhood. In downtown there is a Target and al major banks. In Uptown are several gyms, grocers and other major banks.
There are a few public schools close by in both downtown and Uptown. Neighborhood is fun, but might not be the best for raising a young family.
