Overview
(edit)
Largo is a small area in Prince Georges County, just south of Bowie. It's known for its close proximity to Fed Ex field, the home of the Washington Redskins. Due to the construction of Fed Ex field, the area experienced revitilization, with many new townhouses and condo buildings being built. Largo has its own Metro stop and is close to 495, which makes commuting easy. Housing prices in Largo are considerably low for the DC area, as Largo is not yet too commercialized. The area does not have much in the way of shopping and dining, but there are several sports bars and chain restaurants that are quite popular. Largo is also home to Six Flags amusement park, which is great for families with children. Largo is part of the Prince Georges County school system, and the schools are pretty much hit or miss within this district. Large would be a good choice for people on a budget who want to purchase or rent a spacious home for a reasonable price. It may not be the best choice for anyone wanting to live close to a vibrant nightlife. Depending on how close you are to the Metro, you could survive without a car in Largo.
