Overview
(edit)
Just 15 miles northeast of downtown Dallas, and a short 30 minute commute to the Dallas Fort Worth Airport, is the community of Garland Texas. Although it maintains its small town atmosphere, approximately 230,000 residents call Garland home. The historic downtown is going through a revival of sorts, due in large part to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit systems (DART) arrival. Garlands' downtown boasts an arts center, great restaurants, shops and entertainment. Just a short drive to the Corder Lake area with its award winning parks, trails, recreational areas, and high quality golf courses, Garland residents have an array of outdoor activities to enjoy.
The Garland Independent School District is the second largest district in Dallas County and is considered one of the best school districts in the state. Couple all of the above with a wide variety of housing options and you can see why its residents love the area.
