This is a cute town with a cool location if you want to be near Lake Lanier and the mountains. It's not a place to live if you're commuinting to Atlanta because 53 miles one way isn't worth it. It's one of the few small towns with a public bus system. You'll find plenty of apartmens to choose from and spend less than in a big city. It has a diverse population and thriving downtown with restored historic buildings. There are community events such as outdoor movies and festivals. There are great local restaurants along with chains. In general, if you want to be outdoors and enjoy Georgia's natural beauty, this fits you. But if you want city life or least be close to it, you want something less than a 40 mile drive.
