Falmouth is a beautiful little town that dates back to the 1600s. Many wealthy families live here, but it's mostly middle class. It is very expensive. You can expect to pay at least $900 for a small one-bedroom or studio apartment. Although the choices are nice because of the general high standard of living, you will pay. Incomes are also higher here. The school system is known for being the best in the state. So this could be the right choice if you have school age children. There are some excellent restaurants. Also, with Portland being so close, you're within a short drive of even more choices for shopping and entertainment. The economy is doing well here considering the recession. Unemployment is only 5%, much lower the most of the country. All in all, it's in a beautiful location. There are opportunities educationally and professionally. It's not a walking city so you'll need a car. But, this is not bad if you don't mind harsh New England winters.
