Preston Rd. runs through the heart of Highland Park and becomes Oak Lawn. Oak Lawn meets Cedar Springs and becomes the heartbeat of Dallas' gay scene.
The area is really interesting. There is a Mercedes dealership on the road, amidst restaurants, houses and a beautiful church. There are many hair salons, nail salons, small businesses, and every kind of food imaginable: vegetarian, vietnamese, seafood, italian, mexican, bbq, etc.
There are many apartments and high rise condos, as well as houses. Rent varies according to amenities and maintenance. This is definitely a nightlife area, and those who relish in peace and quiet need not apply.
