Overview
(edit)
Citrus Heights is one of the fastest growing suburban communities around the Sacramento metropolitan area and has a growing number of fine restaurants, small businesses, great schools and beautiful parks.
Did you know that Citrus Heights gained city-hood ten years ago? Well it did.
And for its residents, that means that it has a city government to best handle the needs of fellow Citrus Heightians without incorporating their wants and community plans with the rest of Sacramento. For instance, where most areas have suffered a bit through this gigantic financial meltdown, Citrus Heights boasts that its budgeting and financial planning has remained stable. Also, we have our very own hand-picked police force with the well-being of our fellow brethren and sisteren in their best thoughts and wishes.
Overall, the community planning remains progressive with a focus on green initiatives, youth programs, and a host of planned events thus strengthening the community through involvement and activity making it a prime location for families wanting to plant roots and get involved.

City Wiki
I would say this place is characterized as a middle-income suburban community, so you can expect folks in their thirties-forties with a mess of their fancy little children, a swarm of angst-ridden teenagers who care nothing for the rich history and natural beauty of the area, and an uncontrollable pack of wrinkly old people. Messes, swarms, and packs that total about 87,000.
Ugly's is probably the best place to knock back a few and play some pool...women in marginally appropriate attire, eardrum-splitting metal bands, and good drinks for the price. Dive bar at its finest!
Centrally located between the area's major highways and freeways- Interstate 80, Interstate 5, US highway 50 and US highway 9 are all nearby with easy access. Remember that the left lane is for passing.
an Amtrak station is located in nearby Roseville, about ten miles up the road.
Regional Transit is available pretty much everywhere.
