Overview
(edit)
Westwood's main thoroughfares (specifically Harrison Avenue and Boudinot Avenue) feature many uniquely large and decorative houses, while surrounding streets include a mixture of apartment homes and housing, as constructed by the large number of German immigrants who settled in the Cincinnati vicinity. The area's growth continued steadily for many decades, becoming a residential haven for many of Cincinnati's blue-collar workers, and leading to additional development in the surrounding neighborhoods. The seamlessly adjacent city of Cheviot, Ohio is also one of the oldest suburban communities in Hamilton County. Even longtime residents have a difficult time determining where Cheviot ends and Westwood begins, or vice versa.
Westwood is near the Mount Airy Forest in western Cincinnati. Westwood is located to the south of Interstate 74 along Harrison Avenue. If you are in need of a quick meal while in Westwood, check out White Castle or Arby's. Among the businesses in Westwood are the Drama Workshop and G G Z Food Mart. Westwood is Cincinnati's largest neighborhood, and the population of 35,730 makes it the most populous within Hamilton County[citation needed] (2000 Census). It is located north of Price Hill, west of Fairmount, and southwest of Mount Airy.

There's a crazy amount of places to go for a beer, dinner, or both.
I agree, but one of my favorites is Henke Winery. It's not a winery in the true since, it's more of a resturant that has a terrific amount of wine on hand. Their wines are fantastic, and the food is very good as well. I suggest the pan seared cheese!!!!!! They have wine tastings and the atmosphere is superb. Go see them at 3077 Harrison Avenue
Westwood was originally established as a desirable residential neighborhood, included as part of the expansion to Cincinnati's growing inner-city population during the 19th to mid-20th centuries. Cincinnati Parks has developed approximately two acres in Mt. Airy Forest into a park for dogs. The area is fenced and usage rules are posted on site. Dogs may run leash-free in this dog park, when accompanied by a guardian. Visitors to the facility are encouraged to bring degradable bags to use for disposing of waste.
"If this pilot project at Mt. Airy Forest is successful, it could lead to further opportunities for privately-funded dog parks in other Cincinnati Parks," said Dave Prather, Manager of Planning and Design Services for Cincinnati Parks.
Tax-deductible gifts in support of the Mt. Airy dog park and future dog parks can be sent to the: Cincinnati Parks Foundation, 950 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
The dog park is located at Mt. Airy Forest's Highpoint Picnic Area on Westwood Northern Blvd. between Montana Ave. and North Bend Road.
Mount Airy Forest, adjacent immediately to the north, is Cincinnati's largest park (and forest), and is one of the largest municipal parks in the United States, encompassing approximately 1,470 acres (5.9 km2) of semi-thickly wooden hillside and parklike hilltop land.
The neighborhood is know for its close proximity to downtown, the interstates, and tree lined streets. Many parts of the neighborhood were built for walking and offer beautiful views as you turn the corner.
In the historic parts of the neighborhood you can hear the church bells ring as you relax on your porch, or take a stroll to one of the many neighborhood business. Some such as Sontag's Dry Cleaner, Ken's Barber Service, Pohlman's Upholstery, and Keidel's Supply have been in the neighborhood for generations, while newer establishments such as Henke Winery, Rondo's restaurant, and The Coffee Cap are a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
