Overview
(edit)
Chattanooga, nicknamed the Scenic City is the fourth-largest city in Tennessee. Located on the Georgia border, this vibrant city is centrally located and surrounded by the larger cities of Atlanta, Birmingham, Knoxville and Nashville. The city has received national recognition for its restoration of downtown and redevelopment of its waterfront. Restaurants, shops and entertainment provide residents with hours of fun. Neighborhoods have seen an overall change: restoration of historic homes in the neighborhoods of Fort Wood, Ferger Place and St. Elmo, building of affordable housing, and safe-clean neighborhoods. The citizens of this city are involved in the overall future, growth and development planning. Chattanooga was one of the first US cities to effectively use a citizen visioning process to set specific long-range goals to enrich the lives of residents and visitors. Enjoy a 5 mile stroll on the greenway system along the riverwalk beginning downtown and winding through the art district and parks in the city.
The people, healthy economy, affordable housing and civic pride, make this city one of the most livable in the area.
