(edit)
Located 44 miles north of Atlanta, 21 miles north of Kennesaw and 51 miles south of Dalton, Cartersville is small friendly town where people go for relaxed small town atmosphere. Established in 1850, the city offers a great deal of history, such as the Etowah Indian Mounds from 1000 A.D., but also provides an abundance of culture and recreation today, including the Booth Western Art Museum and the Pine Mountain trail. About 19,000 folks live there, and the median income is $47,000 per household. The downtown area is being revitalized, in part thanks to the growth that has occurred over the past few years because of its proximity to Atlanta. Downtown is home to The History Center, a small museum that tells of Cartersville's past.

If you like the outdoors such as Redtop Mountain, Lake Allatoona, and golf courses, Cartersville is the place for you. There are lots of newer apartments available at a good value, and if your work is no further than Kennesaw, it's a good choice. It's an attractive clean town that's organized and close to anything you need. If you want metro life, you won't be happy here. Bartow County schools aren't too bad. Arts and entertainment won't be like Atlanta, but there are a few options like The Grand Theatre, a beautifully restored auditorium that hosts year-round shows. Cartersville is a good choice if you don't need to be downtown Atlanta with any frequency.
