My daughter goes to the on site Montessori school and daycare. not a bad fitness center and pool. underground parking spots... great for the Minnesota winter. Overall great city to live in!
City Wiki
Mainly white, middle class families
Burnsville has numerous restaurants, mainly the typical suburban chains, such as Red Lobster, Macaroni Grill, Applebees, and so forth. There are some independent restaurants, these mostly stick to the sports bar/grill theme. Such bars also become the “hot spots” for grabbing a drink later in the evening with friends.
Rental rates in Burnsville vary depending on the style of apartments, most places are larger complexes and can range form 750 to 1,000. A one-bedroom near $1,00 will likely include nice amenities such as a gym, either an indoor or outdoor pool, and a parking space in a heated garage.
Depending on what you want, the prices can be quite nice considering what you will get for the money, aside from the amenities, you will get space…the air is also very clean here. Burnsville is very spread out and clean. On the flipside it’s a little boring and truly suburb. There will be a lack of diversity and culture.
Getting to and from this part of town will be a cinch as Burnsville is located on major freeways of the Twin Cities. Parking is free on the streets and widely available. There are city buses that service this part of town as well.
Do your homework, ask the right questions, visit the neighborhood. A nice, clean apartment will not be hard to come by here...so don't sweat if you don't find the perfect place right away.
Find something with a heated underground garage... you'll be happy you did when the snow flies.
Recreation and fun can be had at Nicollet Commons Park, the city’s main park in the heart of Burnsville. This park is perfect for picnics and walks and has live music during the summer months.
Burnsville also has numerous other recreational areas and ballparks, such as Lac Lavon Softball complex; there are also several lakes and the Minnesota river nearby, ideal for fishing, swimming, and boating. In the winter residents can go skiing at the nearby Buck Hill Ski lodge.
You could typically live anywhere in Burnsville and it will all look the same as the next place in that city. It’s fairly cookie-cutter.
You will find all the suburban staples...Target, malls, banks, gyms, big box grocery stores, etc.
As the tenth largest city on the state, Burnsville has a wealth of business, just over 2200 businesses in fact, including a Pepsi Cola plant. There are also some major medical facilities in the city offering opportunities in the healthcare field.
As a large, spread out city, there are continuous developmental buildings, such as new condominiums. Owning a home here may be expensive, but not as much as in south Minneapolis. You will definitely get more space as well, so the dollar goes farther here.
This is Minnesota, in the winter it is COLD! In the summer, it's beautiful and worth the freezing months!
