Overview
(edit)
Frankford is a suburban community minutes from downtown Baltimore. Easy access to I-95 and I-895 allows travel to all the hotspots of Baltimore in less than twenty minutes, making its location ideal to commuters. Oftentimes referred to as 'Gardenville' due to growing neighborhood borders (there really is not much of a difference), Frankford is comprised of mainly working to middle class folk, all seeking the benefits of the location and a family-style environment. The architecture, like most areas of Baltimore, is unique in its own right, and consists of old colonial Americana; large front porches, a-frame roofs with that little window up top, boxy little yards--the kind of street Springsteen sings about. Apartment villages are common, and many times will you find a street with gutted-out townhomes turned into several unit apartments. It's classy and quaint, and is often referred to as friendly--a desc/ription not commonly heard within the city.
Surrounded by schools and parks make for little to no transportation, while shopping centers are plenty. Cruise among the mom and pop stores along Belair Road, or stop by Bowley's Lane for Hobbit's Video, your one-stop-shop for all your deli, grocery, video, and discount beer and liquor needs. It's a town secret.
