The city of Aventura - Spanish for "adventure" - was aptly named by developers during the 1970s due to their forseeing "adventures awaiting residents", resides on the Eastern coast of the Miami-Dade area. Aventura shares with its neighbors prime real estate and an excellent tropical climate. Residents living in Aventura live a relaxed lifestyle amongst the heavily-influenced Latin cultures of the Caribbean, Central and South America. Aventura is also the most densly populated area of Brazilians in the U.S.

Several high-end commercial and public ventures stand out in Aventura including the Aventura Mall, Founders Park, the Shoppes at Waterway; the latter is an outdoor mercado-style shopping district along Ocean Blvd. Luxurious towers of commercial and residential properties line the streets of Aventura, as the neighborhood is in close proximity of Downtown North Miami and the prestigious Biscayne Bay area. Local residents who can afford to live here enjoy a wealth of amenities and clean, safe public spaces. Aventura is also prosperous in the arts community with construction currently underway for the city's new Arts & Cultural Center, which is looking to expand its community arts and drama education and event venues.

Aventura is a sought-after destination for working professionals and middle-income families who are looking for a high-end community on the edge of the hustle-n-bustle of Miami. There are many great public schools as well as private and charter schools for K-12. The area is also near Florida International University. The only word of caution to this living in this South Florida haven - beware of hurricanes.
