Overview

Resting only 16-miles north of the hectic and progressive vibes of Philadelphia is the inviting Borough of Ambler, Pennsylvania. This southeastern town is home to approximately 6,400 citizens. If you desire a slower pace of life with a more serene setting, an Ambler apartment home is exactly what the doctor ordered!
This quaint city holds an interesting story regarding its name. Originally, the town was called the Village of Wissahickon. This name was derived from the North Pennsylvania Railroad depot built in the area during the middle of the 19th century. Unfortunately, tragedy struck the area when a local train accident claimed the lives of 59 people instantly with dozens to later die from injury complications.
The Great Train Wreck of 1856 was a horrible occurrence, breaking the spirits of those who survived the ordeal. A local Quaker woman by the name of Mary Johnson Ambler was a celebrated heroin through this ordeal. She aided in caretaking during this catastrophe. As homage to her unyielding selflessness, the town was named to commemorate her honor.
Ambler has so much to offer a new apartment renter. Temple University has an Ambler campus where you are able to take a variety of undergraduate, graduate and continuing education classes. The Act II Playhouse is consistently offering up a new stage play or recital. The Ambler Theater is known for showcasing independent films and art exhibits for the creative heart. And the Ambler Symphony Orchestra always hit the right notes during one of their world-class performances.
Whether you want to get to the Philly metro area quickly or relax in the peace of a calm town, the Borough of Ambler has you covered.
