Atlantic Station is an exciting new neighborhood that has much to offer. With a wide selection of shopping, entertainment, employment, and basic services, you have easy access to everything you need. The area is very walkable, and because it has its own shuttle service, getting around is easy.

Atlantic Station is probably Atlanta\'s most well-known \"work, live, play\" community built in recent years. Though not as hip or charming as some of Atlanta\'s older neighborhoods, there\'s a lot to be said for its convenience and cleanliness. With Atlanta\'s killer commutes and the crazy price of gas, who can argue with the opportunity to walk to work or take a shuttle to shop? And though the nightlife might not be incredibly exciting, I\'d take walking home after margaritas at Rosa Mexicana over cabbing it from midtown to the suburbs any day.

There really are a lot of \'new\' shopping, dining and entertainment options at Atlantic Station but, the truth is, it\'s a very Buckhead-esque congregation of folks. Some of the one-off boutiques are overpriced, while the chains are pretty true to their respective names. Be warned that parking sucks here, and that parking in the main decks is a crowded and expensive headache. If you\'re going to dinner or a movie here, just make sure to arrive about 30 minutes early.

Neighborhood Wiki

The People - Who lives here?

Atlantic Station has a pretty diverse crowd, making it a nice place to live.

Social Scene - Bars, clubs, restaurants

Cool, very hip scene.  Sort of a southern NYC.

There are some great restaurant choices in Atlantic Station.  Let\'s start with the favorite:

Rosa Mexicano:  This upscale Mexican place is an offshoot of the very popular Manhattan restaurant.  The tableside guacamole will leave you begging for more.  Combine that with the Pomegranate Margarita, and you are good to go!  Good place for groups.  Has an outdoor deck that looks out on the main square.  Great choice for a mid-range casual dinner.

Strip:  This popular steakhouse also has a great Sushi bar.  It can be crowded on weekends, so reservations are recommended.  Don\'t have a reservation?  You can dine in the upstairs lounge, which is very hip.

Dolce:  Mmmmm good.  Great upscale Italian restaurant that serves tapas as well.  It is owned by the Dolce Group, whose investors include Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama, Chris and Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon, Dule Hill, Jamie Kennedy and more.  The menu is innovative and the decor is fabulous.  Nice outdoor patio.

Geisha House:  A modern Japanese restaurant, sushi bar, and sake lounge.  Not a run-of-the-mill sushi place, though.  They put a Contemporary spin into their food and decor.  This is a sister restaurant to Dolce, owned by the same group.

Lobby at Twelve is part of Concentrics Restaurants, and sister to the Atlanta classic Murphy\'s as well as the famed One Midtown Kitchen, Two Urban Licks, and Trois.  Lobby at Twelve serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Their dinner menus includes pizza, burgers and sandwiches, salads and specialty entrees.

There are several great choices for casual dining in Atlantic Station, including California Pizza Kitchen, Doc Green\'s, Moe\'s, Fox Sports Grill, Atlantic Grill (burgers, salads, sandwiches) and let\'s not forget Coldstone Creamery for dessert!

Bars
Fox Sports Grill:  Great place to watch a game on a Saturday (or Sunday, or Monday night)!

The Grape:  Very nice wine bar that has a nice small-plate menu as well.  Affordable prices.

PJ\'s Coffee and Lounge
:  Has a wine bar, cocktails, great desserts, and occasional live entertainment...oh, and they have coffee too!

Ten Pin Alley:  Three level multiplex that has an ultra-exclusive lounge where well-known DJ\'s play all kinds of music.  It also has 12 bowling alleys, 3 billiards rooms, and an innovative restaurant.  This is part of the Dolce Group.  Has been visited by quite a few celebrities, including some of its owners.

The Value - Rental prices vs. quality of living

The value here is high because of the easy access to everything.  It is a fantastic location if you don\'t have a car.  Rents can be on the higher side, but given the brand new buildings and excellent location, very much worth it.

Transportation & Parking

Access to public transportation at Atlantic Station is terrific.  There is a free shuttle that runs around the neighborhood every 5-15 minutes.  The shuttle also goes to the Arts Center MARTA station.  There is a separate shuttle that runs to and from Georgia Tech.  Marta bus route #23 serves the area as well via a large bus stop on the 17th Street bridge.

There is ample parking in The District due to an underground garage (paid, but not too expensive, parking).
