This small community is one of a handful in the United States that has accepted government grant money to provide gigabit Internet -- that is, Internet with a speed of 1,024 kilobits per second -- to both residents and businesses.
Reedsburg has existed since 1848, and the village has a storied history, which includes a World War II prisoner of war camp in what is now one of the town's parks. In fact, the town now has over a dozen parks that include a dog park and a skate park in addition to the municipal pool. Reedsburg is located just south of the Wisconsin Dells and not too far from Baraboo, Wisconsin. Reedsburg has fewer than 9,300 residents (2010 U.S. Census data), and it's off the beaten track enough that you won't be swarmed with tourists if you're looking for places to live in Reedsburg. However, the close proximity to two tourist hotspots -- the Dells and Baraboo, which has the Circus World Museum -- offer plenty to do if you live in the area.

Neighborhoods
There aren't real neighborhoods in Reedsburg, but check out the different sections of town to see which one fits your lifestyle best.
City Center: Some people choose to live in Reedsburg because they're attending Madison Area Technical College, though you might want to avoid the southeast part of the City Center neighborhood if you think the noise from the municipal airport might bother you.
West Reedsburg: Living toward the west of the town will shorten your commute.
North Reedsburg: Toward the north, you'll find some neighborly parks and the local cemetery. A couple cul-de-sacs in this area feel more suburban; and you're not in the middle of traffic or downtown. Nishan Park is in this area of town.
East Reedsburg: If you go far enough east, you'll be able to enjoy life near scenic Lake Virginia. You'll find Marty's Steakhouse in this neighborhood.
Living in Reedsburg
Life in Reedsburg is well spent outdoors. Water activities such as swimming, jet skiing, and boat tours are popular in the nearby Wisconsin Dells, and you'll feel welcome in Reedsburg if you enjoy hunting and other outdoor activities, which you can partake in year-round. Snowshoeing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling are just a few of the winter activities that Reedsburg residents enjoy. Take a stroll through historic Reedsburg while the autumn leaves are brightly colored overhead, and you'll feel as connected to nature as you will be connected to the Internet.
